It’s a Cumulus Kind of Day

Hello all my beautiful friends—

I hope you are healthy and happy today! It is a beautiful day here in Indiana! Temperature is a bit on the cool side, perfect for some! I have the privilege of visiting my father day! He is mowing the grass, thankful at 79 he is able to be so active. The world is still combating COVID-19 and there are still people sick and dying, we cannot escape that reality. We can still be thankful for the life we have and the multitude of blessing we have received. There’s always something to be thankful for. I am thankful to each individual who supports this space, you all have made a difference in my life. You, yes you the person reading this YOU ARE A BLESSING TO ME! God bless you and keep you!

Hello friends—

I am wishing you all a very happy May 1st 2020. I realize it has been a rough couple of months and there is so much to be thankful for. God is still in control and He is ever present we each of us. I am thankful for the alone time, I’ve been able to work on some personal projects and try some new cooking recipes. I have had the opportunity to see what is truly important and significant to me and my life going forward. None of us know what the future hold but we do indeed know who holds the future! Amen!

I’ve also been writing some and wanted to share a new poem of sorts with you. Isolation can be very positive for self reflection. I look at my life and I see lots of mistakes, I’ve been hurt and I have hurt people I love. In my mistakes, I’ve tried to glean from them and make the best of situations I created. I have been so blessed to experience love and loss, we need both to appreciate their true depth. I recently watched one of my favorite movies, “Anna and the King.” It is such a beautiful story of life, loss, sacrifice and love. My favorite quote in my movie is, “If love were a choice, who would ever choose such exquisite pain” -Margaret Landon.

#ACC — Esther’s Circle

Hello my dear friends—

I hope all of you are doing well today!! I wanted to share with you about a group of women I am honored to be a part of. We call ourselves “Esther’s Circle” and we are church/family members of ACC (Avon Christian Church). I have had the privilege of calling this group my family for nearly eight years. We meet once a month typically at one of our homes, share in a snack/hors d’oeuvre and then we have a conversation and bible study followed by a dessert. My faith has grown through these conversations because these women, are women of God! They are fully committed to Jesus and dedicated in sharing His message of hope and love. They are prayer warriors, volunteer warriors and have profound love for others.

Last night was our scheduled meeting but due to COVID-19, we were unable to physically meet with one another. So, like many others around the world we used “ZOOM.” It was so nice to hear their voices and see their faces. God is GOOD! Our current study is reading the book “Inspired” by Rachel Held Evans. If you have not read anything by Rachel, you are missing out!! Sadly, Rachel passed away in May 2019. Her voice is greatly missed in the Christian community and around the world.

The chapters we discussed are called “Resistance Stories-The Waters” and “The Gospels.” We are using the study guide recommended on her website.

One of the questions posed in the study guide was, “Why Christian?” Has anyone ever ask you, “why are you a Christian?” We talked about this in general and in my personal opinion we don’t ask the question often enough. No for a defensive answer but in a compassionate one. We are not accustom to giving testimonials in churches any more. I know that some still do and I think it’s great. But to the people you call brothers and sisters every week in church do they know we know their story? Do you have a conversion story? As followers of Jesus, these would be stories of celebration and should be honored.
