#ACC — Esther’s Circle

Tuesday, April 21, 2020

Hello my dear friends—

I hope all of you are doing well today!! I wanted to share with you about a group of women I am honored to be a part of. We call ourselves “Esther’s Circle” and we are church/family members of ACC (Avon Christian Church). I have had the privilege of calling this group my family for nearly eight years. We meet once a month typically at one of our homes, share in a snack/hors d’oeuvre and then we have a conversation and bible study followed by a dessert. My faith has grown through these conversations because these women, are women of God! They are fully committed to Jesus and dedicated in sharing His message of hope and love. They are prayer warriors, volunteer warriors and have profound love for others.

—Matthew 18:20—

“For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.”

Last night was our scheduled meeting but due to COVID-19, we were unable to physically meet with one another. So, like many others around the world we used “ZOOM.” It was so nice to hear their voices and see their faces. God is GOOD! Our current study is reading the book “Inspired” by Rachel Held Evans. If you have not read anything by Rachel, you are missing out!! Sadly, Rachel passed away in May 2019. Her voice is greatly missed in the Christian community and around the world.

The chapters we discussed are called “Resistance Stories-The Waters” and “The Gospels.” We are using the study guide recommended on her website.

One of the questions posed in the study guide was, “Why Christian?” Has anyone ever ask you, “why are you a Christian?” We talked about this in general and in my personal opinion we don’t ask the question often enough. No for a defensive answer but in a compassionate one. We are not accustom to giving testimonials in churches any more. I know that some still do and I think it’s great. But to the people you call brothers and sisters every week in church do they know we know their story? Do you have a conversion story? As followers of Jesus, these would be stories of celebration and should be honored.

Continue to practicing good health and hygiene habits and I hope to see you all real soon aother soon
