Hi friends~
Just popping in to share a favorite memory of mine, I hope mine triggers a happy one of yours.
Today, after shopping for my weekly groceries, I got in my car and a was taken back to a beautiful memory. When I was a kid, typically every Saturday in the late afternoon, my mom and I would drive into town and buy groceries. When I was growing up Saturday’s were spent watching morning cartoons and then I would start the house cleaning chores while my mom was at work. My mom worked in her beauty salon just at the edge of our property. Her day usually started by 6am until noon or 1 on Saturday. When she was finished for the day, I would stop cleaning in the house and walk over to her salon, usually with an ice tea for mom and she and I would clean the salon. At the completion of that job, we would walk home and finish cleaning the house. Once all the cleaning was complete, we would wash/bathe, adorn clean clothes to then go grocery shopping. It was my time with her, I would help with collecting needed item and as a special treat she would buy a four pack of Persian Nut Donuts from the bakery. My mouth is literally watering as I am writing and reliving this memory. We would pack the groceries in the car and on the drive home she and I would eat a donut, while talking, laughing and singing along with the radio. Gosh, I sure miss those days, and I miss my mom even more. I have been so blessed my entire life because of the woman she was, God took her home nearly ten years ago and I miss her every single day.
