Hello family and followers. I am sure you have noticed I have been reposting some of the blog post of individuals that I follow on WordPress. My purpose is not in increase my numbers but to expose you to individuals who inspire artistic expressions. I hope you are finding some enjoyment through their individual styles and modes of expression and perhaps provide some insights to the things I like in the process. This community of people enlighten me and take my breath away because of their artistic gifts. I met someone long ago that opened the world of art to me and sparked a flame that would eventually lead me to write. We are both out in the world chasing our dreams and rarely speak but that does not mean he’s really far away, my heart holds many fond memories of him and the gift he gave me. God is always putting people into my life at exactly the right time I need them. Now, with that being said; I sometimes am not fully aware of that gift upon meeting them but some blessings and gifts need time for us to mature and grow to be able to receive these precious gifts.

The Crucifixion of Jesus

How can you honor your parents today?
I am blessed to still have my father with me. I call him nearly everyday. And I am extremely blessed with a younger brother who does call our dad every single day and visits him almost everyday. My brother is a lifeline, an angel, he sits with dad and they share coffee and life stories, it is beautiful to see. My mother passed in 2012 but she’s never far away in my thoughts and my heart. I enjoy honoring her in many different ways…
I honor my mother by placing new flowers and decorative items at her gravesite several times throughout the year. And sometimes, I just drive through the cemetery and pause to say, “I love you, mom!” I know she’s not there but it a place where I have spent a lot of time just talking to her. I have grieved her being gone; I have laughed while sharing a story and I simply just miss her.
I honor my mother by trying to live a life pleasing to God, following the many life lessons she taught me. And, even now I continue to learn, rather (re) learn some of those lessons.
I honor my mother by caring for others, as she cared for so many throughout her life.
I honor my mother by speaking truth, she always spoke her mind and her convictions about life were her foundation.
I honor my mother by living as passionately about family and caring for others as she did.
One final thought, not sure it falls into honoring but my mom was a beautician and owned her own shop for many years. She had been the only one who had cared for my hair for many years. To this day, I think of my mom every time I wash my hair 😂 the one thing I always think of “Don’t use too much shampoo – it only takes a small amount!” It may seem silly but I love that memory. Pure joy!
L👀K around you, is there a parent figure in your community who lacks adult children to care for them?
I am blessed to be surrounded by parent figures. Many have their own children and do not need care from me but I care for them nonetheless. To have a heart overflowing with love and gratitude towards others is a blessing indeed.
How might you love them like John was tasks with loving and caring for Mary?
Availability…Availability…Availability.
Words are very comforting to those we care for and about but I can tell you words cannot compare to the healing powers of touch. The simple act of touching a hand or shoulder can be so powerful. I get that not everyone is a “hugger” 🤗 but to me it’s positively magical.
“Then some Pharisees and teachers of the law came to Jesus from Jerusalem and asked, “Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They don’t wash their hands before they eat!” Jesus replied, “And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition? For God said, ‘Honor your father and mother’ and ‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.’ But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is ‘devoted to God,’ they are not to ‘honor their father or mother’ with it. Widows, Elders and Servants (verse 1-25)

But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God. So Pilate came out to them and asked, “What charges are you bringing against this man?” “If he were not a criminal,” they replied, “we would not have handed him over to you.” Pilate said, “Take him yourselves and judge him by your own law.” “But we have no right to execute anyone,” they objected. This took place to fulfill what Jesus had said about the kind of death he was going to die. Pilate then went back inside the palace, summoned Jesus and asked him, “Are you the king of the Jews?” 34 “Is that your own idea,” Jesus asked, “or did others talk to you about me?” “Am I a Jew?” Pilate replied. “Your own people and chief priests handed you over to me. Jesus Sentenced to Be Crucified (19:1-16)
“Then Pilate took Jesus and had him flogged. The soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on his head. They clothed him in a purple robe and went up to him again and again, saying, “Hail, king of the Jews!” And they slapped him in the face. Once more Pilate came out and said to the Jews gathered there, “Look, I am bringing him out to you to let you know that I find no basis for a charge against him.” When Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe, Pilate said to them, “Here is the man!” As soon as the chief priests and their officials saw him, they shouted, “Crucify! Crucify!” But Pilate answered, “You take him and crucify him. It was the day of Preparation of the Passover; it was about noon. “Here is your king,” Pilate said to the Jews. But they shouted, “Take him away! Take him away! Crucify him!” “Shall I crucify your king?” Pilate asked. “We have no king but Caesar,” the chief priests answered. Finally Pilate handed him over to them to be crucified. So the soldiers took charge of Jesus.”
Did you know that on the day that Jesus was crucified He stood before three judges? I am not sure if I knew this piece of information prior to reading the book “Uncovering the Love of Jesus” by Asheritah Ciuciu in which she reference to it on page 181, line 3.
Jesus stood before Caiaphas
“Meanwhile, the high priest questioned Jesus about his disciples and his teaching. Then Annas sent him bound to Caiaphas the high priest. Then the Jewish leaders took Jesus from Caiaphas to the palace of the Roman governor. Jesus has a lengthy dialogue with Pilate.

What Is Truth?
This was Pilate’s response to Jesus saying, “Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.” Jesusthroughout His questioning was calm and in control. Not once did Jesus turn to pettiness or jealousy. Jesus could have easily pointed out the sins of His accusers, He did not try to prove His innocence, He wasn’t defensive in His responses. Throughout their dialogue it becomes clear that Pilate finds no fault in Jesus. Pilate had a choice as to whether or not he would be a part of Jesus’ death. Even Pilate’s wife had troubling dreams about Jesus and His innocence.
“So when the crowd had gathered, Pilate asked them, “Which one do you want me to release to you: Jesus Barabbas, or Jesus who is called the Messiah?” For he knew it was out of self-interest that they had handed Jesus over to him. While Pilate was sitting on the judge’s seat, his wife sent him this message: “Don’t have anything to do with that innocent man, for I have suffered a great deal today in a dream because of him.”

We know Pilate’s choice, and we’re each given a choice today. Jesus lovingly shatters our illusions of power and control, reveals the fear we each cover up inside.
Will you choose self-preservation or will we throw ourselves on the mercy of Jesus?
Today, if you’ve never yielded to Jesus as your Lord and King, surrender to Him and receive His gift of life with Him forever.
