A Bit of Wisdom by C.S.Lewis

Sunday, May 24th, 2020

Hello Everyone! I hope you have a beautiful Sunday wherever you may be in this wonderful world God created for all of us. 🔆🌻💛

Question posed to C.S.Lewis:

What is your view of the daily discipline of the Christian life – the need for taking time to be alone with God?

Answer/Response by C.S.Lewis:

We have our New Testament regimental orders upon the subject. I would take it for granted that everyone who becomes a Christian would undertake this practice. It is enjoined upon us by Our Lord; and since they are his commands, I believe in following them. It is always just possible that Jesus Christ meant what he said when He told us to seek the secret place and to close the door.

A Bit of Wisdom from C.S.Lewis

Friday, May 22nd, 2020

Hello friends—

I hope you are well! You all remain my my thoughts as we continue to battle COVID-19. I have been healthy and working, I am thankful for both. These days can be trying and difficult but only if we allow it. Life is challenging this is true, these challenges can help us discover better way to live and love one another. We are all God’s children, there should not be a divide when it comes to the human race. All life is precious and has purpose. It’s easy to count the things that going badly in our lives and it is just as easy to count the good things too!

Quote by C.S.Lewis—

“God will invade. But I wonder whether people who ask God to interfere openly and directly in our world quite realise what it will be like when He does. When that happens, it is the end of the world. When the author walks onto the stage the play is over. God is going to invade, all right: but what is the good of saying you are on His side then, when you see the whole natural universe melting away like a dream and something else – something it never entered your head to conceive – comes crashing in; something so beautiful to some of us and so terrible to others that none of us will have any choice left? For this time it will be God without disguise; something so overwhelming that it will strike either irresistible love or irresistible horror into every creature. It will be too late then to choose your side. There is no use saying you choose to lie down when it has become impossible to stand up. That will not be the time for choosing; it will be the time when we discover which side we really have chosen, whether we realised it before or not. Now, today, this moment, is our chance to choose the right side. God is holding back to give us that chance. It will not last forever. We must take it or leave it.”

Voice of Inspiration

Thursday, May 21st, 2020

Hello Friends—

A friend offered the below quote to me yesterday after I shared feelings of loneliness as it relates with the world we are currently experiencing. It was very illuminating to me, I hope it is to you as well. None of us are really alone, God is always with us. I’m a touchy/feely kind of person, I love the feelings and emotions that a hug can produce. My loneliness may endure for a time but make no mistake, I AM NOT ALONE AND NEITHER ARE YOU!

“Look at how a single candle can both defy and define the darkness.”

~Anne Frank~

A Single Candle Can Defy The Darkness

We walk in a “ravine as dark as death” (Psalm 23:4), and still we have nothing to fear because God is at our side: God’s staff and crook are there to soothe us (see Psalm 23:4). This is not just a consoling idea. It is an experience of the heart that we can trust.

Our lives are full of suffering, pain, disillusions, losses and grief, but they are also marked by visions of the coming of the Son of Man “like lightning striking in the east and flashing far into west” (Matthew 24:27). These moments in which we see clearly, hear loudly, and feel deeply that God is with us on the journey make us shine as a light into the darkness. Jesus says, “You are the light of the world. Your light must shine in people’s sight, so that, seeing your good works, they may give praise to your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:14-16).

Happy Mother’s Day 2020

Sunday, May 10th, 2020

Happy Mother’s Day to all women around the world! I personally want to acknowledge my mom, she was/is all I could ever ask a mother to be. I thank God for her. She is with Jesus now, I miss her every day and I know she’s at peace. I have so many strong and courageous women in my life who have at different times been my friend, my counselor, my sister and even a mom figure to me…you know who you are 😉 and I say “THANK YOU!” Your love and support are a blessing to me.

Who…

  gives me blue skies,

  and tells me no lies.

gives me strength when I am weak,

  and wisdom to be meek.

  fills my darkness with light,

  on a cold winters’ night.

  makes me laugh,

and leads me on my path.

Who…

  is this so true,

  it is you, Mother, YOU!

A Poem — Lost, Here All The Time

Lost, Here all the Time…

For days now, the winds of this life have left me wanting…searching…lost…and forgotten.

Satisfaction is elusive in a very real sense,
My thoughts, they deceive me.

What is fact and what is fiction,
They are all scrambled one upon another, what to do.

I have lost my way, a ship at sea with no captain, no sail
Oh God of heaven and earth, lead me back to you.

I need what only you can give, forgiveness and acceptance
Only you can love me, though undeserving I am…

Your unconditional love will free me from myself
Please, I beg…take these burdens, teach me your ways.

My ways are weak and cause great pain
I ache and yearn for what this world can give.

Alas, it does not sustain me and it pleasures in my pain,
Take those empty dreams and broken promises.

Fill me with Your love, compassion and promises
For they will never fail, will never be withered by time.

They will endure generation after generation with no end.
Oh God, clothe me with your love.

Use me to send and spread your message to others

Others like me, longing for real joy, true happiness and

Limitless abounding love for always.

It’s a Cumulus Kind of Day

Thursday, May 7th, 2020

Hello all my beautiful friends—

I hope you are healthy and happy today! It is a beautiful day here in Indiana! Temperature is a bit on the cool side, perfect for some! I have the privilege of visiting my father day! He is mowing the grass, thankful at 79 he is able to be so active. The world is still combating COVID-19 and there are still people sick and dying, we cannot escape that reality. We can still be thankful for the life we have and the multitude of blessing we have received. There’s always something to be thankful for. I am thankful to each individual who supports this space, you all have made a difference in my life. You, yes you the person reading this YOU ARE A BLESSING TO ME! God bless you and keep you!

Cumulus clouds are clouds which have flat bases and are often described as “puffy”, “cotton-like” or “fluffy” in appearance. Their name derives from the Latin cumulo-, meaning heap or pile. … Cumulus clouds may appear by themselves, in lines, or in clusters.

A Bit of Wisdom from C.S.Lewis

The ❤️ of humility, are you speaking the language of love and respect?

Monday, May 4th, 2020

“The truth is, I haven’t any language weak enough to depict the weakness of my spiritual life.” —C.S. Lewis

Below is an excerpt of an article I found that referenced C.S.Lewis and the verses in a Matthew 5:3-6. I have also include the article under references.
