Today, I want to spotlight a friend of mine and her business. She recently designed two hats for me to wear at Pledge The Pink event in Fripp Island, S.C. 2022.
My friends name is Stacey and she did an amazing job on these bucket hats. I received so many compliments and they were fun to wear while supporting my team.
Please check out her website and I’m sure you will find something you will love for any occasion. Click the link below.
I wanted to share an update for the fundraising goal of 2022 for Pledge The Pink; to date the organization has raised $650,738.19 and still climbing. Donations for the 2022 event are still being accepted through Monday, October 31st, 2022.
It is such an honor to be among this brave and courageous women. The words Faith, Family and Friends…fills my heart to overflowing.
Team Boo Bees — Breast Cancer Survivors
🦩💗🐝💗🦩💗🐝💗🦩💗🐝💗🦩💗🐝💗🦩
I first heard of this group from a dear friend I met in college. Margaret is a breast cancer survivor and warrior! She has participated in this event in the past along with another dear friend, Nancy. We all met in college and have remained friends throughout the years. Life happens, distance grows geographically and personally but the bond we have with one another has endured over almost four decades. Spending last week with them was a blessing from God. God’s timing is always “right-on-time.” He knows us and wants only the very best for us, His plans are always far better than any thing we could ever dream up. Case in point, the plan was everyone would be leaving on Sunday and I was staying over until Monday to close up the house we rented. As it turned out, Nancy’s plans were changed and she and I stayed to close up the house. We spent time Sunday night just talking, sharing in conversation and it was awesome. We spoke about family, life struggles, health, faith and theology, to mention a few. It was all so wonderful. My most favorite, well two favorite things we did were; we prayed together and we sang, “In The Garden.” Thank you, Nancy! Bonus time, I was blessed to drive her to the airport Monday morning at zero dark thirty and we talked and shared more, truly a blessing.

I wish time would have allowed me to spend more time with Margaret, her husband Greg and their daughter Alicia but life is busy and the weekend was very event filled. I am beyond blessed to have these individuals in my life. I also was blessed with two new friends over the weekend, Art and Michelle looking forward to getting to know them better. God is good, God is always good!

Today is Day 3 of Pledge The Pink 2022, it is a beautiful day at Fripp Island, S. C. So many amazing individuals making a difference in so many lives. This experience has far exceeded any of my expectations. I have met women from across the nation and heard their stories of perseverance. This organization is nearly unbelievable, but trust me it is REAL and VERY BELIEVABLE! Below are some amazing photos that were taken by those walking the last 30 miles. I turned volunteer today due to very sore and blistered feet. I pulled out my old cheerleader persona and cheered everyone on to the finish line, along with a vodka lemonade and a power bar! WooHoo!

Today’s events were meeting and greeting; hat decorating, team pictures and team dinner!
We also were visited by On Fire for a Cure – Pinkie
On Fire For A Cure is the Pink fire truck that will be joining Pinkie to Fripp! Thankful to Jeanne for helping coordinate getting this set up between 2 agencies, the military, and PTP. To clarify any Survivors can sign the truck! This all began after speaking with Laura and jeanne about wanting to get the fire truck following last years event. Happy that the 174th MAC has agreed to make it happen by hauling them down!
Tomorrow is our 1st walk. I’ll try to post more pictures. Thank you to everyone for your support. I am grateful to be a part of this amazing group.
I would like to first say THANK YOU to some very special individuals that contributed to my donation page in support of Team Boo Bees and Pledge the Pink Foundation. Our goal is to raise money and awareness for breast cancer prevention, treatment and research for a cure.
Thank you each, I will try to be worthy of your support. I have many others who are supporting me through prayers and I am so appreciative of those individual prayer warriors. God has given each of us gifts and it is in how we use them that brings glory to God. Whether through your time, your talents or your financial support they are all equally important and cherished by me.

Hello friends, I had an opportunity to spend some time out in nature this past week and captured some (my opinion) beautiful fall colors. I hope you enjoy the short video.
I give thanks to God for His handiworks.

Hello friends, these words came to me today as I was contemplating life, my life and it’s composition. I was raised in a rural area of Indiana with loving parents. I have a baby brother, who’s no longer a baby and has grown into a good man, husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. The older I get the more I appreciate him. I was fortunate to grow up with many aunts, uncles, cousins and even second cousins. I experienced life in a community were I was not fearful of playing outside even into the twilight. I loved riding my bike and playing in the yard, as the neighborhood kids would also do. As I write this, it sounds even a bit “hokey” to me, but it’s all true. I have found as I age the hurts of youth soften, not go away but I also do not allow them to steal precious time from me any longer. Looking through the lens of maturing eyes gives me perspective, for all the wrongs that I have received, and those I have given. Wisdom of age, nothing is fair and will never be so. Pinned up anger can only rob us of joys, current and unseen. It is true, the slogan “Just Be Kind.” It costs you nothing to give and you might just get something more precious in return.
As I sit and pondering all the bitterness, brokenness and wrongs that have befallen to me, I have a choice…allow myself to become engulfed with rage and resentment or I can look at what I have gained from each experience I have endured. Whether you put much thought into the cultural thoughts around the world, how can one deny that without pain, how would one know joy? Life is balance, it can be represented in all areas of living; too much of one thing can throw off balance. Sleep and waking; nutritious food and yummy foods, play and work, study and knowledge, etc.

Balanced living means considering all aspects of your life: relationships, work, fitness and health, and emotional well-being.
We all get bogged down with work and family responsibilities from time to time, but making time for yourself is necessary so that you can keep up with all your responsibilities. All batteries get run down, even yours. So recharge your body physically and mentally and make the commitment to enjoy some “you time” every day.

I guess what I’m trying to convey is life can be what you want it to be. I’m not saying our choices will be without challenges or disappointments but they can be, indeed BE exactly what we want, need and desire. A friend of mine taught me in times of uncertainty, “Trust The Plan” she helped me see that our Creator knows us and knows what’s best for us and we need only trust in Him.

Hello friends, I have just finished reading C.S.Lewis’ book, “Till We Have Faces.” It was a book filled with “all the feels” to say it contains all the elements of a great book, well that would be an understatement. I am always astonished at the mastery of C.S.Lewis’ writings, he can transport a person to far away lands or even out into the universe, and all the while keeping our feet planted firmly where we stand. Not only does Lewis do this…He always brings into focus and draws the reader into the knowledge of God. His writings weave together the things of earth and of God. His unique ability to write for children and adult alike are so rare and beautiful.
After I had finished reading the book, “Till We Have Faces.” I read a few reviews and found one that summarized the story best written by Fr. Richard Conlin. I have posted a link below for you to read as well. Maybe it will interest you to read the book as well. No matter our ages, reading a fantasy fairytale is good for oneself.
Thank you for visiting my blog today, it brings joy to my heart. I hope you have found something new or interesting during your visit. I am blessed by you and you are a blessing to others. Just Be Kind 💛🍁🌾🍂🌻
