Happy May 2020

Friday, May 1st, 2020

Hello friends—

I am wishing you all a very happy May 1st 2020. I realize it has been a rough couple of months and there is so much to be thankful for. God is still in control and He is ever present we each of us. I am thankful for the alone time, I’ve been able to work on some personal projects and try some new cooking recipes. I have had the opportunity to see what is truly important and significant to me and my life going forward. None of us know what the future hold but we do indeed know who holds the future! Amen!

I’ve also been writing some and wanted to share a new poem of sorts with you. Isolation can be very positive for self reflection. I look at my life and I see lots of mistakes, I’ve been hurt and I have hurt people I love. In my mistakes, I’ve tried to glean from them and make the best of situations I created. I have been so blessed to experience love and loss, we need both to appreciate their true depth. I recently watched one of my favorite movies, “Anna and the King.” It is such a beautiful story of life, loss, sacrifice and love. My favorite quote in my movie is, “If love were a choice, who would ever choose such exquisite pain” -Margaret Landon.

Blessings to you all — all of you around the world! We are connected through our humanity and because we are all God’s children.

I Like Me

I like me

But sometimes I miss us

I like me and my space

I sometimes miss you and me

I like my independence

I sometimes miss being dependent

I like me inside and out

I miss the good times we shared

I like me and being free

I love the memories of you and me

I like me in the present

I loved you in the past

I have learned to love myself

I am thankful for the love we shared

I am so very thankful for you

I am so thankful for my wholeness
