A Bit of Wisdom from C.S.Lewis

Patience is something we all have dealt with at some point in our lives. Some people are better than others at mastering the skills necessary to harness it. Kids tend to want to get older faster and adults often wish for their younger days. The Bible gives us over 70 instances of being patient.

Life is a journey and an adventure! With Jesus as our Lord and Savior our destination is Heaven. You’ve heard of the phrase, “Stop and smell the roses.” Indeed, use the senses God gave you to explore, learn and grow. Do not rush life along, ever corner has something for us to learn. Please do not misunderstand, I am not saying life will always be good, if fact life can be very difficult at times. But it is through those experiences that we learn. How would you recognize a good job from a bad one if not for experience. Knowledge is power and all knowledge is useful. When we rush things along, especially when we are unprepared, we create difficulties for ourselves. If you care about something allow it to grow. Have you ever planted a garden or had house plants? They take immense tending and patience. Patience can be applied to all aspects of our lives; friendship, dating, colleges, buying a home, purchasing a car, having children…the list goes on and on.

Waiting and patience are not exactly the same thing. Patience should not be a lazy noun, being patient is collecting data, experiencing feelings and exploring your senses. Waiting should not be a lazy verb. If we only wait expecting God to send us a postcard with instruction,we will likely be waiting for a very long time.

—Proverbs 14:29–

“Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but one who has a hasty temper exalts folly.”

Being Thankful

Thursday, April 16th, 2020

Hi friends around the world and those close by! I just wanted to share a few pictures and a verse. I took these pictures on my way home from work on Monday night. The sky was so beautiful, so much so I wanted to chase after it. And, well I sort of did in a manner of speaking. You see in order for me to get this exact picture I had to drive down a dead end road where there is a construction site! Lucky for me everyone was gone and I didn’t even get out of my car. The backdrop is the award winning Indianapolis International Airport along with FedEx Hub of Indianapolis. God’s Blessing are all around us, we need only to notice.💛

A Bit of Wisdom from C.S.Lewis

Thursday, April 16th, 2020

Today, we are given an opportunity to be Christ to others, even in our isolation from COVID-19. Being the hands and feet of Jesus, is to do the things He did. He recognized individuals that others passed by on a daily basis without thought. A simple acknowledgement of someone who feels like no one, can be life changing! I encourage you to reach out to someone you haven’t spoken with in awhile and let them know you are thinking of them. A text, an email or even a phone call. ~God Bless You~

~Luke 6:40~

“A disciple is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully qualified will be like the teacher.” —NRSV

“The student is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like their teacher.” —NIV

“A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher.” —ESV

Here is the full quote from Lewis’ book, Mere Christianity:

“Now the whole offer which Christianity makes is this: that we can, if we let God have His way, come to share in the life of Christ. If we do, we shall then be sharing a life which was begotten, not made, which always existed and always will exist. Christ is the Son of God. If we share in this kind of life we also shall be sons of God. We shall love the Father as He does and the Holy Ghost will arise in us. He came to this world and became a man in order to spread to other men the kind of life He has — by what I call “good infection.” Every Christian is to become a little Christ. The whole purpose of becoming a Christian is simply nothing else.”
